Testing Procedures: Queens College Step Tests
Select the appropriate box height (16.25 in)
Set metronome to proper step rate (men 96 bpm & women 88 bpm), and have the participant step for 3 minutes.
Have your client remain standing after the exercise and palpate a 15 second HR. Calculate recovery heart rate by multiplying by 4.
Write out the appropriate equation and calculate predicted VO2max ml/kg/min.
VO2 Max (Men) = 111.33 – (0.42 x HR)
VO2 Max (Women) = 65.81 – (0.1847 x HR)
